The top shelf rum from the Matusalem line is the Gran Reserva Solera 15. This spirit is well balanced with all the qualities that make a fine aged sipping rum.

WIth a medium body and soft amber color, the rum presents delicate legs in a tasting glass. The aromas of wood, butter, vanilla, caramel and molasses dominate. Flavors of sweet molasses, vanilla, oak and spice are forward, with a balanced sweetness that fades into a long, warm finish.
Matusalem Rum distillation and blending principles come from the Solera Aging System, originally developed for the production of sherry and brandy. The Solera technique, in which rums of various ages and characters are matured in select oak, enables Matusalem to create complex aged spirits.
After arriving in Cuba from their native Spain, Benjamin and Eduardo Camp and partner Evaristo Alvarez, founded Matusalem Rum in 1872. Matusalem Rum is still produced using the original recipe in the Dominican Republic. The company’s President/CEO is Dr. Claudio Alvarez, a direct descendant of Evaristo Alvarez.
Matusalem also imports their Clasico gold rum and Platino white rum into the United States.
