Ron Howard posted a couple of pictures on Twitter today showing off the cast of “Arrested Development” in some newly shot scenes. Howard is an executive producer of the series and was spending the day doing his famous narrations for the upcoming fourth season. He also confirmed yesterday to Rolling Stone that he will make a cameo as himself on the show this year.
In one photo we see George Sr. and Michael Bluth conversing on a bench. Another shot reveals a short-haired Portia de Rossi as Lindsay Bluth Funke singing. Both photos come from the recording studio where Howard is completing his voice-overs.
Ron Howard tweeted, “Great to see these @bluth guys in a 2 shot again,” along with the first photo that featured Jason Bateman and Jeffrey Tambor.
“Arrested Development” was created by Mitchell Hurwitz and aired for three seasons on the FOX network. It was critically acclaimed, but ratings challenged due to FOX’s tendency to shuffle the program around on their schedule. The network cancelled the series in 2006.
Thanks to high DVD sales Netflix came to the rescue seven years later by ordering a full fourth season to air on their subscription service. These new episodes will feature the entire original cast and are set to premiere simultaneously in May. There is not expected to be a fifth season, but a movie might happen.
