For the first time since the presidential election Mitt Romney has spoken up about his feelings after losing to President Obama Today, March 3, 2013, the New York Daily News has reported on an Associated Press story, Mitt Romney: ‘It kills me’ that I lost the election to President Obama. Mitt Romney has said his heart said he was going to win the presidency, but when early the results came in on election night, he knew that was not going to be.
Romney has also said the loss hit him hard and was very emotional. And Ann Romney says that she cried. Romney has commented, "The hardest thing about losing is watching the golden moment, this critical moment, slip away." And he has added that "it kills me" to not be part of this historic time in America where he could have had the opportunity to help America "solve its fiscal problems." Romney has acknowledged mistakes in the campaign and flaws in his candidacy.
Fox News has also covered this story, Romney relays disappointment over loss, admits mistakes, in first sitdown since 2012 election. Romney says he is now finished with elected office, but that he will continue to try to help the Republican Party, despite having a less powerful voice. Romney gone on to say, “I'm not going to disappear. … I care about America. I care about the people that can't find jobs. I care about the fact that we're racking up larger deficits and putting the peril of the future generation very much in play.”
