Romney hands out cash in South Carolina: Happy days are here again

According to a Politico report, Mitt Romney gave about fifty dollars from his pocket to a woman at a campaign event in Columbia. The cash was ‘what he had on him at the time’.

The woman, Ruth Williams, met Romney earlier in the week and apparently told him she was struggling. She had seen the campaign bus and followed it to the airport. At the airport, Romney’s aides invited Ms. Williams to the Columbia, SC event to meet Romney.

This is a truly bizarre story.

Are we to conclude that it is now open season on Romney Warbucks? All struggling South Carolinians now have the opportunity to chase down Governor Romney and get whatever he happens to have in his pocket at the time. What a guy! This will be a boon to the South Carolina economy. Now that is what I call redistribution. All of those Bain Capital takeovers are finally having the trickle down effect Americans had hoped for. Happy days are here again.
