Romeo's Pizza is the latest establishment to add gluten-free pizza to their menu. The gluten-free pizza is a 10" pizza for $12.99 with one topping. The gluten-free pizza crusts are supplied by a local bakery. There is a warning on the Romeo's website about the restaurants not being dedicated gluten-free facilities.
Romeo's new Gluten-Free pizza crusts are supplied by a gluten-free bakery. However, Romeo's Pizza locations are not gluten-free environments due to the fact that we make our regular dough fresh every day with a high-gluten flour in the same kitchen. While we make every attempt to avoid direct exposure to gluten, there may be some gluten present in the pizza. People with severe food allergies and/or Celiac disease should be aware of this risk and order accordingly.
Each individual must take this information into consideration before choosing to order and eat the pizza. This sounds a lot like another pizza chain that introduced gluten-free pizza in the past few months and put out a similar warning.
Romeo's Pizza has nine locations in the Columbus area, as well as locations in Cleveland, Akron/Canton and Dayton.
