Romeo's Peach Festival an ideal day trip for summer's end

Enjoy a "peachy" time in Romeo

The Romeo Peach Festival began today during what appears to be one of the prettiest weekends of the summer. It’s actually warm AND sunny!

The Festival, held in Romeo, Michigan, is in its 78th year. Like most “small town” festivals, the Peach Festival features a Queen (this year, Kathleen Cieslik), great home- prepared food and interesting events.
Running from Thursday, September 3 through Monday, September 7, the Romeo festival will compete with giants such as Pontiac’s Arts, Beats, and Eats for festival-goers attention, but this cozier event packs plenty of fun into a long weekend.
Friday features a tennis tournament, casino room, baby photo contest and much more.
Saturday brings golf, soccer, and softball tourneys, a flea market, carnival rides, and a “steak-out” dinner.
On Sunday, look for the farmer’s breakfast and car show, used book sale, bed races (yes, you read that right!) and “Mummer’s Parade” (held at 8 pm).
Wrapping things up on Monday, in addition to many of the above mentioned events, will be the Peach Festival Floral Parade at 1:30 pm on Main Street.
Expect a great time at one of the last blasts of the summer.
