"Romeo Killer: The Chris Porco Story" synopsis/plot

When a mother is found bludgeoned with an ax and her husband is found dead, she tells police that it was her own son who her attacked them. The movie follows detectives as they do everything possible to bring the bad son to justice, despite the mother's pleas to leave her son alone.

The true story involves the case of a college student who murdered his father and tried to murder his mother. According to court records, Chris Porco killed his father Peter Porco and left his mother Joan Porco for dead. Both victims had been hit repeatedly with an ax. Joan Porco survived her injuries but was left permanently disfigured.

Police say his motive was money. The Porco case dominated news headlines in 2004. The murder happened in Delmar, NY. Joan Porco stood by her son throughout the trial. In 2006, Christopher Porco was found guilty of second-degree murder and attempted murder.

In 2013, Christopher Porco tried to stop Lifetime from making the movie based on his case. The movie finally aired in 2013, according to the Daily Mail.

Today, Chris Porco resides in a New York State correctional facility. He is serving a 50 year sentence.
