A scam known as "quick-changing" or "till-tapping" begins with a small purchase with a big bill and ends with a shortage in the cashier's register.
This is exactly what happened in Rome, NY at a local Walgreens on South James Street. Police say a man entered the pharmacy and tried to purchase a pack of gum with a $50 bill.
According to police, the man then allegedly presented a $100 bill to pay for the gum. His fast paced change in currency technique enabled the cashier to give him an additional $50 in change.
