Designer Marc Jacobs, the Creative Director of French fashion house Louis Vuitton, presented his Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2013/2014 Womenswear Ready-to-Wear collection at Paris Fashion Week on March 6, 2013 in Paris, France.
Jacobs offers a very romantic, yet sophisticated retro-inspired collection of dresses and gowns in a muted color palette to include slate grey/green, beige, brown, rust, ivory, pink, grey and basic but always chic black.
Expect a variety of materials and textures such as lace, silk, velvet, chiffon, plaid, fur and even leather from this autumnal Louis Vuitton collection.
Something unique to this Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2013/2014 collection is a selection of plaid pieces embellished by metallic glitter at the hem, such as the grey and black plaid dress with silver bling at the bottom, which is topped off with a green and brown faux fur coat.
There are also several very lovely lace dresses, including the V-necked cocktail dress with elbow-length butterfly sleeves.
Worthy of mention among his several red carpet-ready gowns is the V-necked grey gown with floral motif and long sleeves, which actually could be teamed very artfully with a pearl grey lacy or chiffon shift to offer more coverage.
Accessories include extremely fuzzy fur handbags that make you think of fur boudoir slippers from the 1950’s, a large selection of heels and medium-sized handbags.
In their outerwear range, there are some lovely plaid coats in various colors combinations such as tasty cocoa brown (that tops a rust lace-embellished gown), bottle green and slate grey.
Attending the Louis Vuitton Fall 2013 fashion show today were Naomi Watts, looking very elegant in white, Jessica Chastain, Antoine Arnault and Natalia Vodianova.
For the record, there wasn’t a single skirt on Marc Jacobs, who felt compelled to don a red floral jump suit that looked like, warm, fuzzy flannel pajamas. Hmmm… It’s all good!
