Valentine’s Day is approaching fairly quickly and just because we live in the city of Sin doesn’t mean that we can’t get our love on around these parts. Sure, there are plenty of options for those celebrating with a special someone. But, of all the places out there, some are better bets than others. Based on personal experiences as a Las Vegan, (in my opinion) here are the best three:
1. Peppermill Fireside Lounge. The Peppermill was a place that I’d heard of many times before actually going there, and when I finally did, I was very impressed by its intimate setting. Operating 24 hours a day, the warm flaming pool (which is a fancy way of saying a nice fireplace) is enclosed by seating that allows you to be close to your date but still far enough from strangers to prevent any awkwardness. The overhead televisions display entertainment that is interesting enough to break the ice during any silent moment and to keep the vibe light and pleasant. This part of the establishment is called the Fireside Lounge and has quite the reputation for making the ‘Best of’ lists and being featured in movies and television shows. If dinner is one of your plans, then walking over to the restaurant on the other side of the building is a 24-hour option as well.
Quick Tip: If possible, schedule your outing here during a time of day that most people don’t view as “date time.” The result of this will be a smaller crowd and will further enhance the romantic mood.
2. Zumanity. Why this Cirque Du Soleil show? Because it’s sexy and it’s fun. And did I mention that it’s sexy? A must-see for couples because it plays on our inhibitions and fantasies; Zumanity has eye candy for both men and women. The storyline and performers are amazing and by the time the show is over, getting closer to your Valentine will be the only thing on your mind.
Quick Tip: Just don’t attempt to recreate any of the acrobatic moves, no matter how invincible the show might make you feel.
3. Lake Las Vegas – Serenity mixed with a lack of people and noise makes this a perfect outing for a date. Vegas is a busy city that is constantly moving and to get away from it all can feel great sometimes. Lake Las Vegas feels like a world to itself. There are nice sights, shops, and eateries to entertain visitors for hours. The lake itself is also quite beautiful and calming. The intimate area that is Lake Las Vegas is perfect for a daylong date that is all about quality time.
Quick Tip: If you’re looking for lots of “Vegas style” entertainment, you won’t find it here. On the verge of boring for some movers and shakers, Lake Las Vegas caters greatly to a true romantic that wants minimal distractions and a little room to get creative.
So there you have it. Intimate settings, eatery options, and a sexy show – the key elements of an amazing Valentine’s Day.
