At 7p.m. the library is offering a special treat, a romantic Live at Laman concert performed by the Peabody Hotel’s house band “Wine and Roses”. The duo will entertain guests with smooth and soulful jazz. The concert, taking place in the Lecture Hall, will wrap up about 8p.m. This musical program will be rebroadcast on FM 89.1 KUAR.
Current book recommendations from Laman Library include “Angelology” by Danielle Trussoni. This exciting and imaginative epic centers on Sister Evangeline, brought to live with the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in upstate New York as a young girl, who discovers an ancient secret, involving the clash between the Society of Angelologists and the beautiful but monstrous creatures who are descended from angels and humans. Evangeline comes to realize that the battle between these forces of good and evil is not over and that she is destined to be a part of it.
Other recent recommendations include, “Wicked Appetite” by Janet Evanovich, “One Second After” by William R. Forstchen, and “The Story of Stuff” by Annie Leonard. To see all the library’s recommendations visit www.lamanlibrary.org
