Although I'd been considering participating in Rolling Thunder for several years, I suspect I wasn't alone in my feeling that the event was "for Harley riders only." Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. There are many ways to participate, and not only is it not required that you ride a Harley, you don’t need to ride at all. Everyone is welcome to join in the support for our troops and veterans.
And while veterans do have an affinity for Harleys, H-D bikes are very heavily represented, bikes of all shapes and sizes are found in the parade. And just as many of all sorts are parked throughout the city by riders visiting Thunder Alley, visiting the memorials, and watching and cheering along with the crowd.
There were sport bikes, patriotic bikes, custom bikes, bikes with guns and rockets... and much more!
