On Feb. 26, 2014, the Rolling Stones performed the second concert of their ""14 on Fire" tour at Tokyo Dome in Tokyo. According to an announcement on the Rolling Stones' website, the 19-song set list at the concert included "Bitch," which was voted on in an online poll asking fans which song the Stones should perform at that concert.
In addition, former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor (who is a guest on the entire tour) performed three songs with the band at this concert: "Slipping Away," "Midnight Rambler" and "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction." In most of the concerts Taylor has performed with the Rolling Stones since 2012, he usually performs just two songs per concert, and those songs are usually "Midnight Rambler" and "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction."
The Rolling Stones launched the tour on Feb. 21, 2014, at Du Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Critics' reviews of the concert in Abu Dhabi concert were mostly positive.
As previously reported, the Rolling Stones had their "14 on Fire" tour rehearsals in Paris, where they spontaneously invited about 27 fans inside rehearsals on Feb. 14, 2014. The band began the rehearsals in Paris on Feb. 3, 2014.
The Rolling Stones usually have a tradition of performing a "surprise" show at a nightclub in or near the city where they rehearse for the tour, but the band opted not to do that kind of "surprise" show before the "14 on Fire" tour. Tickets for the Rolling Stones' pre-tour "surprise" shows usually go on sale on the day of the show and are priced at around the same amount that the nightclub would charge for people to see an unknown band.
As previously reported, the Rolling Stones are planning to take their "14 on Fire" tour to Europe in the summer of 2014, according to a Pollstar report published on Feb. 4, 2014. The European tour dates have not been announced yet, but Pollstar reports that Sensible Events chief Andrew Zweck is the coordinator for the tour's European concerts, and he "will be working on a consultancy basis for AEG Live, which is handling the business for the rest of the world."
On Dec. 3, 2013, the Rolling Stones began announcing concert dates in Asia, Australia and New Zealand for their "14 on Fire" tour of 2014. The announcements were made on the Rolling Stones' official Internet outlets. Frontier Touring and AEG Live are the concert promoters for the tour in Australia and New Zealand.
As previously reported, the band's first concert that was announced on the "14 on Fire" tour was March 22, 2014, at the re-opened Adelaide Oval in Adelaide, Australia. Tickets went on sale on Nov. 25, 2013. Not surprisingly, the concert sold out, as have the other concerts on the tour.
The Rolling Stones' previous tour of Australia and New Zealand was in 2006, as part of their "A Bigger Bang" world tour.
Former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, who was a special guest on the Rolling Stones' "50 and Counting" concerts in 2012 and 2013, will continue to be a special guest on the Rolling Stones "14 on Fire" tour.
According to an announcement made by the Rolling Stones: "The stage design for the indoor concerts is based on the band’s ubiquitous tongue and lips logo, which extends out into the audience. The exclusive ‘Tongue Pit’ GA Standing area inside the stage will give a limited number of fans in this area an incomparable 360-degree concert experience. Known for their groundbreaking sets and use of cutting-edge technology, the Stones’ set design will feature video screens and special effects that will enhance the high-octane experience of attending a live Stones show."
