Rolling Stones reschedule and expand Australia and New Zealand tour

The Rolling Stones have announced a new schedule for seven previously postponed 14 On Fire Tour dates in Australia and New Zealand while adding two additional shows for good measure. Presented by Frontier Touring in association with AEG Live, performances originally booked from March 19 - April 5 will now take place between Oct. 25 - Nov. 22 with a second show added in Perth and a brand new gig scheduled in Pokolbin.

According to a news release posted on April 15 at Rolling Stones.com, the legendary British rockers will kick off the rescheduled leg on Oct. 25 Adelaide, Australia at Adelaide Oval and wrap up Nov. 22 in Auckland, New Zealand at Mt Smart Stadium. The country’s biggest-selling singer, Jimmy Barnes, has been added to the bill in Adelaide, while the reformed hit band Hunters & Collectors will guest in Auckland. More support acts will be announced shortly.

Ticketholders who are unable to attend the rescheduled dates can receive refunds from their original point of purchase. Refunded tickets for the soldout shows will be available to purchase during an onsale that begins Fri., May 2. A presale for the new Perth and Pokolbin shows begins Tues., April 29.

The original tour of Australia and New Zealand was postponed last month due to the death of Mick Jagger's longtime girlfriend L'Wren Scott. The "Satisfaction" hitmakers had only just arrived in Perth when they received the news of the 46-year-old fashion designer's passing and quickly postponed the Perth date with the remainder of the tour quickly following suit.

The Rolling Stones recently announced an extended 14-city European tour leg, which will kick off May 26 in Oslo, Norway at Telenor Arena and wrap up July 3 at in Demark the Roskilde festival. Yesterday, The Stones released a new promotional video, titled 'A Postcard from Asia," which was taken at various stops on their recent 14 On Fire Tour overseas and features a montage of the crowds, cities, concert footage along with comments from each of the bandmembers.
