On March 12, 2014, the Rolling Stones announced that they will be headlining two music festivals as part of their "14 on Fire" tour in 2014: the Pinkpop Festival in Landgraaf, the Netherlands, on June 7 and the TW Classic Festival in Werchter, Belgium, on June 28. The band made the announcement on official Rolling Stones outlets such as their website, Facebook and Twitter account.

In the announcement Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger commented: "I love festivals in the summertime and can't wait for the tour to get to Europe."

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards added: “Let’s keep this show on the road … The band are in top form so I’m really looking forward to getting back to Europe.”

Tickets for the 2014 Pinkpop Festival go on sale at 10 a.m. local time on March 15. Other performers on the main stage of the 2014 Pinkpop Festival include Ed Kowalczyk, Flogging Molly and John Mayer on June 7; Chef'Special, the Kooks, Ed Sheeran, Editors and Arctic Monkeys on June 8; Mastodon, Rob Zombie, Biffy Clyro, Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica on June 9. Other artists performing during festival on other stages include Haim, Joe Bonamassa, Bastille, North Mississippi Allstars, Limp Bizkit, Rudimental, Paolo Nutini, Robert Plant and the Sensational Spaceshifters, Jett Rebel, Kodaline, Jake Bugg, Stromae and Arcade Fire.

Tickets for the 2014 TW Classic Festival go on sale at 10 a.m. local time on March 15. The other acts on the festibal bill are Simple Minds, Triggerfinger, Arno, Seasick Steve and Admiral Freebee.

The Rolling Stones launched the "14 on Fire" tour on Feb. 21, 2014, at Du Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Critics' reviews of the tour have been mostly positive.

The Rolling Stones usually have a tradition of performing a "surprise" show at a nightclub in or near the city where they rehearse for the tour, but the band opted not to do that kind of "surprise" show before the "14 on Fire" tour. Tickets for the Rolling Stones' pre-tour "surprise" shows usually go on sale on the day of the show and are priced at around the same amount that the nightclub would charge for people to see an unknown band.

As previously reported, the Rolling Stones are planning to take their "14 on Fire" tour to Europe in the summer of 2014, according to a Pollstar report published on Feb. 4, 2014. More European concerts on the tour are to be announced. According to an announcement from the Rolling Stones on March 12, 2014: "The Rolling Stones will be playing more major shows in Europe in May and June, and these will be announced over the next two weeks."

Pollstar reports that Sensible Events chief Andrew Zweck is the coordinator for the tour's European concerts, and he "will be working on a consultancy basis for AEG Live, which is handling the business for the rest of the world."

On Dec. 3, 2013, the Rolling Stones began announcing concert dates in Asia, Australia and New Zealand for their "14 on Fire" tour of 2014. The announcements were made on the Rolling Stones' official Internet outlets. Frontier Touring and AEG Live are the concert promoters for the tour in Australia and New Zealand.

As previously reported, the band's first concert that was announced on the "14 on Fire" tour was March 22, 2014, at the re-opened Adelaide Oval in Adelaide, Australia. Tickets went on sale on Nov. 25, 2013. Not surprisingly, the concert sold out, as have the other concerts on the tour.

The Rolling Stones' previous tour of Australia and New Zealand was in 2006, as part of their "A Bigger Bang" world tour.

Former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, who was a special guest on the Rolling Stones' "50 and Counting" concerts in 2012 and 2013, will continue to be a special guest on the Rolling Stones "14 on Fire" tour.

According to an announcement made by the Rolling Stones: "The stage design for the indoor concerts is based on the band’s ubiquitous tongue and lips logo, which extends out into the audience. The exclusive ‘Tongue Pit’ GA Standing area inside the stage will give a limited number of fans in this area an incomparable 360-degree concert experience. Known for their groundbreaking sets and use of cutting-edge technology, the Stones’ set design will feature video screens and special effects that will enhance the high-octane experience of attending a live Stones show."

On Feb. 20, 2014, the Rolling Stones had this announcement about the "14 on Fire" concert in Singapore, which takes place on March 15, 2014:
