Rolling Stones joined by John Mayer in Rome at landmark Circus Maximus concert

On June 22, 2014, the Rolling Stones performed at the historic Circus Maximus in Rome, with a concert that included a guest appearance by John Mayer on "Respectable," according to the Rolling Stones' official website. The concert (which was part of the Rolling Stones' "14 on Fire" tour) also featured the Rolling Stones performing "Out of Control" in concert for the first time since 2007. Mayer has performed as a guest at several previous Rolling Stones concerts, including a pay-per-view televised event in Newark, N.J., on Dec. 15, 2012. Mayer was also a guest at Rolling Stones concerts in Newark on Dec. 13, 2012, and in Anaheim, Calif., May 14, 2013.

On May 26, 2014 in Oslo, Norway, the Rolling Stones gave their first concert since the death of L'Wren Scott, who was Mick Jagger's girlfriend since 2001. Scott committed suicide in her New York City apartment on March 17, 2014. She was found hanged from a doorknob. The Rolling Stones' "14 on Fire" tour of 2014 went on hiatus after Scott's death. The tour resumed in Oslo, Norway at Telenor Arena on May 26.

As previously reported, the Rolling Stones' "14 on Fire" tour dates in Australia and New Zealand were postponed because of Scott's death. The concerts in Australia and New Zealand were originally supposed to take place from March 19 to April 5, 2014. The Rolling Stones have since announced the rescheduled concerts in Australia and New Zealand for their "14 on Fire" tour.

The new tour dates are from Oct. 25 to Nov. 22, 2014, and they include added concerts in the Australian cities of Perth (on Nov. 1, 2014) and Pokolbin (on Nov. 15, 2014). See the revised tour dates at the end of this article. Special guests for these concerts have also been confirmed as Jimmy Barnes for the Adelaide show and the Hunters & Collectors for the Auckland show.

The Rolling Stones launched the "14 on Fire" tour on Feb. 21, 2014, at Du Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Critics' reviews of the tour have been mostly positive.

Former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, who was a special guest on the Rolling Stones' "50 and Counting" concerts in 2012 and 2013, has been a special guest on the Rolling Stones "14 on Fire" tour.
