According to an article posted Aug. 16 at HuffingtonPost.com, “The World’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band’s gross revenue in North America stands at $7,772,849; $345.49, earning The Stones No. 1 spot once again this week on the trade publication's tour rankings.
The "Satisfaction" hitmakers, who also recently ranked No. 1 on Pollstar’s mid-year Top 100 North American tour chart in 2013, have earned nearly twice the numbers racked up by No. 2 contender Paul McCartney ($3,620,049; $131.27) with the top 5 mostly dominated by old school British rockers along with couple of young country artists.
Rounding out the top 5 are: 3. Taylor Swift ($3,021,717; $86.51), 4. Kenny Chesney ($2,246,701; $75.53), and 5. Fleetwood Mac ($1,427,403; $110.90).
The Stones wrapped up their 50 and Counting Tour last month with two landmark shows at London's Hyde Park and have released highlights from the two shows in a new album titled "Hyde Park Live," which topped the charts in 11 countries on iTunes during its debut week.
“Hyde Park Live” contains 19-tracks and is available for a limited time on iTunes from July 22 – August 19.
