The Rolling Stones have expanded their 2014 European tour leg with the addition of a new summer date in Rome.
According to a news release posted on March 12 at Rolling Stones.com, the legendary British rockers will perform a huge one-off show on June 22 at Rome's Circus Maximus.
Commenting on the new gig, frontman Mick Jagger wrote, “I can’t wait for the tour to hit Europe. It’s a great time of the year to be playing and the tour is a good mix of festivals, stadiums and arenas. See you there!”
Guitarist Keith Richards adds: “Let’s keep this show on the road …the band are in top form so I’m really looking forward to getting back to Europe.”
The new date comes in the wake of the recent announcement of two headlining festival appearances on June 7 in Landgraaf, Netherlands at Pinkpop Festival and on June 28 in Werchter, Belgium at TW Classic Festival.
More European dates are expected to be announced soon. Stay tuned for details.
The Stones performed the final date of their Asian leg on March 15 to a sold out crowd in Singapore at the Sands Ballroom and will kick off their tour of Australia and New Zealand on March 19 in Perth, Australia at Perth Arena.
