On March 15, 2014, the Rolling Stones announced that they will be performing a concert at the iconic Circus Maximus in Rome on June 22, 2014, as part of their "14 on Fire" tour. The band made the announcement on official Rolling Stones outlets such as their website, Facebook and Twitter account. The announcement did not include any information on when tickets for this concert will go on sale.
Also on March 15, 2014: The Rolling Stones concluded the Asian leg the of the "14 on Fire" tour with a concert at Sands Grand Ballroom in Singapore. A special simulcast of the concert was shown outside the venue for those who did not have tickets to get inside. (See the set list at the end of this article.)
According to an announcement on the Rolling Stones' website: "The free simulcast of the Rolling Stones concert at the Marina Bay Sands Grand Ballroom on the Event Plaza [was] projected live in high definition on a giant LED screen measuring at least 12 metres wide. The concert [was] pumped out through a high power, high quality Meyer sound system that [was] suspended eight metres off the ground, providing an incredible audio visual experience for festival-goers."
As previously reported, the Rolling Stones are headlining two music festivals as part of their "14 on Fire" tour in 2014: the Pinkpop Festival in Landgraaf, the Netherlands, on June 7 and the TW Classic Festival in Werchter, Belgium, on June 28.
In the announcement Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger commented: "I love festivals in the summertime and can't wait for the tour to get to Europe."
Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards added: “Let’s keep this show on the road … The band are in top form so I’m really looking forward to getting back to Europe.”

The Rolling Stones usually have a tradition of performing a "surprise" show at a nightclub in or near the city where they rehearse for the tour, but the band opted not to do that kind of "surprise" show before the "14 on Fire" tour. Tickets for the Rolling Stones' pre-tour "surprise" shows usually go on sale on the day of the show and are priced at around the same amount that the nightclub would charge for people to see an unknown band.
As previously reported, the Rolling Stones are planning to take their "14 on Fire" tour to Europe in the summer of 2014, according to a Pollstar report published on Feb. 4, 2014. More European concerts on the tour are to be announced. According to an announcement by the Rolling Stones on March 15, 2014: "The Rolling Stones will be playing more major shows in Europe in May and June, and these will be announced over the next week."
Pollstar reports that Sensible Events chief Andrew Zweck is the coordinator for the tour's European concerts, and he "will be working on a consultancy basis for AEG Live, which is handling the business for the rest of the world."
On Dec. 3, 2013, the Rolling Stones began announcing concert dates in Asia, Australia and New Zealand for their "14 on Fire" tour of 2014. The announcements were made on the Rolling Stones' official Internet outlets. Frontier Touring and AEG Live are the concert promoters for the tour in Australia and New Zealand.
As previously reported, the band's first concert that was announced on the "14 on Fire" tour was March 22, 2014, at the re-opened Adelaide Oval in Adelaide, Australia. Tickets went on sale on Nov. 25, 2013. Not surprisingly, the concert sold out, as have the other concerts on the tour.
The Rolling Stones' previous tour of Australia and New Zealand was in 2006, as part of their "A Bigger Bang" world tour.
Former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, who was a special guest on the Rolling Stones' "50 and Counting" concerts in 2012 and 2013, will continue to be a special guest on the Rolling Stones "14 on Fire" tour.
According to an announcement made by the Rolling Stones: "The stage design for the indoor concerts is based on the band’s ubiquitous tongue and lips logo, which extends out into the audience. The exclusive ‘Tongue Pit’ GA Standing area inside the stage will give a limited number of fans in this area an incomparable 360-degree concert experience. Known for their groundbreaking sets and use of cutting-edge technology, the Stones’ set design will feature video screens and special effects that will enhance the high-octane experience of attending a live Stones show."
