Rolling Heat beat roiled Hawks 103-90

The Miami Heat defeated the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night, 103-90, in front of an Atlanta crowd that may have been saying farewell to Josh Smith in an Atlanta uniform.

The Hawks were up 10 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, but fell apart as they were outscored 40-17 by Miami in the final stanza. Smith was quiet offensively, finishing with just 10 points on 5 of 13 shooting, but finished with 9 assists and 9 rebounds to just miss a triple-double.

Al Horford led the Hawks with 27 points and nine rebounds.

The win was Miami's eighth straight win. Ray Allen and Shane Battier put up 24 points combined in the fourth quarter to key the comeback. LeBron James was busy feeding the ball to others in the fourth, finishing with 24 points and 11 assists, and busy taking the ball away on defense with four steals.

Afterwards in the locker room, Smith was noncommittal about a possible trade: "This organization has given me so much. They gave me a chance to play my dream. We'll have to wait and see what happens."

The trade deadline is 3:00 PM Eastern time today.
