Perception role-play description: This Conflict Resolution story is based on an idea shared with me by a teacher who wished to remain anonymous. This is a love triangle story that actually happened to her when she was in the eighth grade. This story demonstrates the importance of checking your facts.

Role-play directions

Note to the teacher: In addition to the role-play, you can also read it in story form. You might want to read the story to the class first and then have the class act out the role-play. Here’s the link:

Teacher Says or Asks: We will now act out the role-play based on the last story you just heard called “Clever Angie thinks fast.”

The role-play features three guy actors: David, Discussion Question Asker #1, and Discussion Question Asker #2.

The role-play also features three girl actors: Angie, Mrs. Rutledge, and Nikki.

Angie has the big part. David, the two Discussion Question Askers, and Nikki have medium-size parts. Mrs. Rutledge has a small part.

The rest of the class will take turns reading the parts of Narrator 1 and Narrator 2.

Who is interested in playing these roles? (Either pull names or accept eager student volunteers.)

A paper-saving suggestion
