Section 6: Act out Anger Management role-play: Pranks, Idle Threats, and Promises

A. Students participate in scripted role-play called “Pranks, Idle Threats, and Promises.”

Story Description: This story demonstrates that it is not appropriate to make threats or promises to administer bodily harm at school. The action of making threats or pulling pranks can often backfire as it did for Greg, Tim, and Bruce in this story called “Pranks, Idle Threats, And Promises.”

B. Teacher Says: We will now act out the role-play based on the last story you just heard called “Pranks, Idle Threats, and Promises.”

The role-play features four guy actors: Bruce, Greg, Tim, and Mr. Sawyer, the School Principal.

The role-play also features four girl actors: Teacher on Duty, Candace, School Secretary, and Mrs. Johnson.

Bruce, Greg, Tim, and Mr. Sawyer have medium-sized to big parts. The Teacher on Duty and Candace have medium-sized parts. The School Secretary and Mrs. Johnson have really small parts.

The rest of the class will take turns reading the parts of Narrator 1 and Narrator 2.

Who is interested in playing these roles? (Either pull names or accept eager student volunteers.)

C. PDF File – Print about 10 copies for students to share of this scripted Anger Management role-play called “Pranks, Idle Threats, and Promises.”
