On Wednesday (Feb. 8), CNN announced the suspension of Roland Martin for the alleged ‘homophobic’ Super Bowl tweets. These messages initially caused an uproar within the gay community and LGBT advocacy groups, such as GLAAD. Subsequently, he apologized for the controversial remarks and stated they were made in jest, but many feel it is no joking matter. His inner thoughts, which he communicated via Twitter, may be considered ‘violence in language, hidden in humor.’
