Ring of Honor Wrestling has announced their 2014 Top Prospect wrestling tournament and have named the six wrestlers who will compete in the tournament. According to PWS on Dec. 11, the tournament will start the first week of January and the finals will take place at “Wresting’s Finest.”
The winner of the tournament will earn the title “Ring of Honor Top Prospect” and get a TV title match in February against Matt Taven, the man who won the Ring of Honor Top Prospect tournament in 2013..
The names involved in the 2014 tournament include Corey Hollis, Bill “The BenchMark” Daly, Raymond Rowe, Cheeseburger, Andrew Everett and Romantic Touch.
Fans of the Ring of Honor television show on the Sinclair network knows all about Cheeseburger, a ringside attendant who has gotten into altercations with Michael Bennett over the past few months after a short feud where Charlie Haas bullied him for weeks on end.
Corey Hollis is an NWA wrestler who has been wrestling professionally since 2010 and is part of the tag team Alabama Attitude with Mike Posey. He has appeared on ROH television as part of that team.
Raymond Rowe appeared before in Ring of Honor, wrestling Roderick Strong and Michael Elgin on back-to-back nights at “Road to Greatness.” He has been wrestling since 2003 and has competed in the IWC and NWA. Andrew Everett has wrestled under a mask as the Chiva Kid in PWX and Chikara, debuting in 2007.
Bill “The BenchMark” Daly comes from a tryout at a recent training camp.
The Romantic Touch debuted in Ring of Honor at “Glory by Honor XII” where he defeated Will Ferrara in a dark match. While there is little known about this wrestler, he actually might hurt the spirit of the tournament because there is speculation that it is former ROH tag team champion Rhett Titus under a mask.
Ring of Honor “Wrestling’s Finest” takes place on Jan. 25, 2014, in Pittsburgh.
