One of Adam Cole’s first ROH world championship defenses has been postponed and tonight’s main event has had to be changed. According to prowrestling.com on Nov. 2, Cole is still suffering from concussion symptoms and won’t be able to defend his belt against Kevin Steen tonight in Cincinnati.
Luckily for Cincinnati Ring of Honor fans, the replacement match would be a main event on any card. Instead of facing Cole for the ROH World Championship, Kevin Steen will face Jay Briscoe, the former world champion who never lost the title, but was stripped of it due to a severe shoulder injury that kept him out of action for a few months.
Jay Briscoe is also the man who ended Kevin Steen’s long reign as ROH World Champion and helped destroy the evil faction of SCUM. While Steen is now fighting on the side of good, he will get a chance to release is aggression based on losing both his title to Briscoe and his title shot on this night against Cole.
This will also be Briscoe’s first match back from the shoulder injury that prematurely ended his title reign and he will want to use this match to show he is back and deserving of a future title shot to try to win back the Ring of Honor Championship he never lost.
