Ring of Honor is now preparing for their biggest show of the year, “Final Battle 2013.” This has always been the company’s biggest event, with the main feuds finding their culmination. According to PWS on Oct. 29, the main event for ROH “Final Battle 2013” will see Adam Cole defend his world title against Michael Elgin.
The match was set up at the recent “Glory by Honor” event which saw an eight-man elimination tag team match. All the champions were on one team and all the main contenders were on the other side. If anyone pinned Cole, they were guaranteed a future world title shot.
The match lasted almost an hour and a half with Michael Elgin and Adam Cole the last two men standing. Elgin ended up pinning Cole to earn the title shot. This title shot has now been booked for “Final Battle 2013.”
Of course, the odd man out here is former world champion Jay Briscoe, who never lost the title but was stripped of it thanks to an injured shoulder. Briscoe has wanted a chance to win his title back since he was cleared to return to action.
There might still be a chance that they change this to a three-way, but with ROH “Final Battle 2013,” the chance is higher this is just a match between the two future stars.
