Rogue misses out on 'Days of Future Past'

Anna Paquin's portrayal of Rogue, the life force absorbing mutant from Marvel's X-men, has always been a fan favorite. Sadly those fans will be disappointed as the “epic” 'X-men Days of Future Past' will be without the sultry southern beauty.

During an interview, with Entertainment Weekly, director Bryan Singer said, "Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous... Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in.” Singer goes on to say that the Rogue character is “...in the materials and part of the process of making the film...” but that she won't be making an appearance. There is hope that the scene will make it on to the DVD extras when the time comes.

The film is to be released May 23, 2014 and will feature nearly every character from the past four films, along with a few new additions. It will star Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halley Berry, Shawn Ashmore, Ellen Page, Nicholas Hoult, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing, Boo Boo Stewart, Adan Canto, Evan Peters, Josh Helman and Lucas Till. The film should lead into the next sequel, announced earlier this month, 'X-men: Apocalypse,' which is slated for 2016.
