Actor Bob Hoskins passes away at age 71

Actor Bob Hoskins, famous for fun films such as Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Hook, Super Mario Brothers, and Mermaids passed away today at 71 due to pneumonia. In 2012 Hoskins' announced his retirement due to being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

He had been nominated for an Oscar in 1987 for his leading role in Neil Jordan's film Mona Lisa, he won a Best Actor from both BAFTA and the Cannes Film Festival that year.

Many fans will remember him however for his detective work in Who Framed Roger Rabbit as Eddie Valiant, being Mr. Smee in Hook with Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman, defeating Bowser as Mario in the Super Mario Brothers with John Leguizamo, or as the love interest to Cher in Mermaids.
