On Tuesday evening, Moet & Chandon celebrated its 270th Anniversary with an elegant party at Chelsea Piers in New York City. Roger Federer, international tennis champion and Moët & Chandon Global Brand Ambassador, was in attendance and looked dapper in Dior and Louis Vuitton. “It is a big deal for [me] and Moet & Chandon….I’m the Global Brand Ambassador for them, so it’s an exciting night here tonight to celebrate 270 years," Federer said at the event.
The "champagne of success and glamour since 1743," certainly threw a glamorous party. One of Federer's closest friends and admirers Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour took a helicoper to the party. Wintour was joined by Charlie Shaffer, Luke Wintour, Ellie Wintour, Klara Zak and Liz Cordry.
DJ Bob Sinclair was on the turntables and VIP's like Katrina Bowden, Jeffrey Wright, Josh Lucas, Anthony Mackie, supermodel Carol Alt, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Kelly Rutherford, Fabolous, models Andrej Pejic and muse Leigh Lezark, designer Christian Siriano, as well as Jonathan Cheban were all spotted mingling and dancing.
Emeli Sandé performed her radio smash “Next To Me." Josh Lucas is apparently a big fan. Later in the evening Josh Lucas and Jeffrey Wright were also spotted leaving together for dinner at Ken & Cook, where they were overheard raving about Bob Sinclair’s music.
This party was also one of many pre-US Open events happening this week. Federer told reporters that he is excited for the US Open. "One thing’s for sure, I‘ll give everything I have. As usual I’m excited to be back in New York and I hope it is going to be a good trip for me. I feel good, I feel confident, so we’ll see how it goes.”
Federer also discussed the importance of family on the red carpet. He said, “Clearly family is the most important thing in life, my wife has been incredibly supportive throughout and she’s always the backbone and you know, it’s been great with her, and the family is here too, and we’re all very happy to be back in New York and enjoying our time, not just on the court, but clearly also away from it, but I am very focused on making sure I do well on the tennis court first. I’ve had enough vacation this year, I need to make sure I practice and get back to the old form again.”
Overall, it was a night to remember.
