Rodney Strong sets summer concert series lineup

The Rodney Strong Summer Concert Series is among my favorite Northern California attractions.
That’s due in great part to the setting – Rodney Strong’s amphitheatre is a green, grassy enclave just outside Healdsburg in the Sonoma County wine country. Can’t go wrong there.
Then there is the fact that the concerts – unlike many another summer winery series across the region – still showcase smooth jazz. The genre’s Northern California fans have seen their opportunities to catch its biggest stars live shrink over the past two decades so, in a way, Rodney Strong continues to strike a blow for musical diversity. Wine’s pretty good, too, by the way.

June 21: Rick Braun, Peter White and Euge Groove
July 13: Chris Isaak
July 26: Mindi Abair, Elliot Yamin, Spencer Day
August 16: Chris Botti
August 31: Tower Of Power, Jonathan Butler
