Bash on Broadway was a joint effort between the Hard Rock Café and the Nashville Visitor and Convention Bureau. The free concert opened with Gabe Dixon followed by the Dirt Drifters and featured Tommy Sims with special guests Johnny Lang and Marc Broussard. Rodney Atkins headlined and closed the show. They all showed up to play and despite the frigid temperatures every act put on a great show.
Adjacent to the stage was an 85 foot guitar drop, (see slideshow). A ten foot guitar covered in LEDs began its decent approximately 40 seconds before midnight. The guitar hit bottom and announced the New Year complete with a fireworks display both in the air and from the roof of the Hard Rock Nashville. After a chorus of Auld Langsyne, Adkins continued to rock the SRO crowd into the wee hours.

Rodney Atkins headlines Bash on Broadway Nashville, TN
Because the tremendous success of last night’s party, organizers expects this will be an annual event to be featured on Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Years program. In time the annual Bash on Broadway should prove to be a world class event and Nashville’s 85 foot guitar drop will rival celebrations in Madison Square Garden or Trafalgar Square.
