There have been a lot of rumors and speculation about who will and who will not return next season for “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” but Rod Stewart wants to make it clear that his wife Penny Lancaster turned down Bravo’s offer, TMZ reported on March 8.
The “Do You Think I’m Sexy?” and “Maggie May” singer says his wife officially turned down an offer to become a cast member of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” because it is just not her thing.
When asked by a TMZ staff member if Penny was going to join the cast, Stewart replied, “She [Penny Lancaster] doesn’t want to do that sort of thing, you know.”
Chasing the iconic rock star with a camera, the interviewer persisted, asking, “What about you? Did you want her to do it?” to which Rod Stewart replied:
“No, no I didn’t. But whatever she wants to do, she does. She’s an independent woman. She doesn’t want to do it.”
Recently speculation was that Taylor Armstrong would not be asked back or had already been fired from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Also reportedly leaving the “RHOBH” are Camille Grammer and Adrienne Maloof. Insiders say that Marisa Zanuck will not be asked back, and that Faye Resnick may move from “a friend of the housewives” role to full-time “RHOBH” cast member. There have also been rumors that Lisa Vanderpump will not return for another season of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” as her new Bravo reality show “Vanderpump Rules” was a huge success.
There was also talk that LeAnn Rimes had allegedly been approached by producers of “RHOBH” to join the cast. LeAnn Rimes is married to current cast member Brandi Glanville’s ex-husband Eddie Cibrian, and the two ladies have a hate-hate relationship. Rimes and Cibrian had an affair while both still married. The duo met on the set of the Lifetime made-for-television movie “Northern Lights” in 2009.
