Ken Roczen raced to a podium position on his Teka Suzuki Europe World MX2 RM-Z250 against the bigger 450cc machines in the ADAC MX Masters German Championship with third overall at Tensfeld for the fifth round of eight in the series.

The 16 year old set a blistering speed in the soft and bumpy terrain to register fourth and second place in the two motos; spraying champagne on the podium with fellow Suzuki riders Steve Ramon and Clement Desalle as the Tensfeld rostrum was coloured 'Suzuki Yellow.'

Roczen's first race was inspiring after the GP winner became entangled in a second corner pile-up and then set-about regaining what ground he could. He flew back from a slot of 36th and pushed up to fourth; recording the same lap-times as leaders Desalle and Ramon. Roczen enjoyed a better and drama-free start in the next moto and plagued Ramon in the closing stages after infiltrating the top five. He was second by the time of the chequered flag.

Team-mate Arnaud Tonus finished fifth in both races for a positive showing and built up his speed in the sand for what was a valuable meeting for the German team ahead of the GP Limburg - the 11th round of 15 in the FIM Motocross World Championship - on a similar surface at Lommel - next week.

"It was a great weekend for Suzuki and Ken and Arnaud both did well against the 450s on a track that was hard to ride," commented Team Manager Thomas Ramsbacher. "This was exactly what we wanted before Lommel; just to get back into the feel of racing on bumpy and demanding sand. Tensfeld has a lot of jumps and tight corners so it is not easy. Overall, it was perfect practice."

Tensfeld represented the third successive podium in the domestic competition for Roczen and the third from four appearances. The teenager has five top-three results from eight motos. Roczen still leads the ADAC MX Master standings with round six due to take place at Moggers on August 15th.
