Rocky Mountain Pet Expo on April 19 will have free admission

PET EXPO - The Rocky Mountain Pet Expo will be held Saturday, April 19 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the National Western Complex in Denver. Admission is free. Pets are allowed on a leash or pet container. There will be pet-friendly vendors, pet adoptions, a pet fashion show, behavioral specialists, low-cost immunizations and prizes. The complex is at 4655 Humboldt Street.

HELPING FREEDOM SERVICE DOGS - McNeil Designer Portraits has teamed up with Freedom Service dogs to put together a coffee table book called "Dogs of Denver" to raise enough money to rescue a shelter dog and put it through the rigorous training program to help a veteran in need. For a $250 tax deductible donation to Freedom Service Dogs, you get an exclusive one hour photo session of your dog, your dog gets a full page spread in the coffee table book and you get a copy of the book when it goes to print. EASTER EGG HUNT - The Gabriel Foundation will hold its first-ever Easter Egg Hunt for kids ages up to 13 on Saturday, April 19 at the Aviary & Adoption Center in Elizabeth. Children will be split up into groups depending on age and will be set loose to hunt for 2,000 candy-filled eggs. Volunteer help is needed. If you have availability, stop by the Elizabeth location between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendee entry to this event is $5 per vehicle (parking in pasture area). The event concludes at noon, at which time help is needed to clean up. To sign up:

CAT CARE SOCIETY - Elephant Bar locations in Belmar and Greenwood Village will raise funds for the Cat Care Society 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday, April 16. Twenty percent of proceeds -- excluding tax, gratuity, alcohol, merchandise and/or gift cards -- go to the society. Bring in this flyer (/ and present it to your server for lunch or dinner.
