The developer released a stunning trailer to multiple YouTube channels at the same time that GameInformer revealed their cover story on the upcoming release. While few solid details are available on the upcoming title, a few things can be gathered from gathered from the info shown in the trailer.

One of the biggest reveals is the inclusion of the Batmobile in the game, as no vehicles made appearances in any previous installments more than dropping off supplies or in cutscenes. We can assume that this coupled with the move to next gen will allow Rocksteady to expand the explorable area in the game to include perhaps the entirety of Gotham, and maybe even some areas outside of the city.

Also apparent in the trailer is the return of classic villains to challenge the Dark Knight such as Penguin, Two-Face, Scarecrow and Harley Quinn. One interesting quick snippet at the end of the trailer, is those that choose to preorder the title will get the option to play as Harley Quinn. Still unknown is if that play will be in a combat challenge mode, similar to previous efforts, or an alternate story.

With the demise of Joker in the prior installment, the rogues gallery looks to team up and give Batman his biggest challenge yet.

Gamestop also lists the game for an October 14, 2014 release date, although Rocksteady and WB Games have not yet confirmed a solid date for the release. If Arkham Knight is to come out on October 14th, it would fall right in line with prior Arkham releases from WB Games in the past.

While this is the first we're hearing of Rocksteady's latest work, and with a packed fall release calendar as it is, Arkham Knight looks like it is already climbing to the top of more than a few "most anticipated" lists.
