“GTA V” and “GTA Online” have only just been released but Rockstar is already making plans for GTA VI. Rockstar North President Leslie Benzies spoke with Develop Magazine revealing that they have a wealth of ideas for future GTA content.
According to a correspondence with Develop Magazine Benzies claims Rockstar’s idea bank equals “about 45 years worth of ideas”. Some of those ideas are for the most recently released “GTA Online”. Others however are for “GTA VI” indicating that a 6th installment to the franchise is virtually guaranteed.
“We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don’t know what GTA VI will be, but we've got some ideas.
"GTA Online is the focus right now. There ain’t no rest between finishing V and then Online.
“Plus we have some other things - stuff, DLC, I don’t know how to describe it exactly - that we’d like to do, and we’ll pick the right ones.”, said Benzies.
It’s no surprise the studio would be planning on another GTA game given the epic success of “GTA V”. However, given “GTA Online”’s very rocky start fans of the franchise can hope the studio is putting most of their creative power towards getting the games they've already released smoothed out.
