Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival combined forces with KBPI’s First Annual Locura Festival, on Sept. 1. Circa Survive and Coheed and Cambria were the opening acts, Jane’s Addiction was the main support and Alice in Chains was the headlining act—on the Rockstar Energy Drink sponsored main stage.
Anthony Green is the vocalist and guitarist, Colin Frangicetto and Brendan Ekstrom are the guitarists, Nick Beard is the bassist and Steve Clifford is the drummer of Circa Survive. Beard is also the backup vocalist.
Green thanked everyone for being present, after Circa Survive’s opened their showcase with “Oh, Hello”. Beard went onto accompany Green with the chorus, as they continued on with “Birth of the Economic Hit Man”. The guitars continued to echo through the speakers, they wasted no time and capitalized with “Sharp Practice”.
Frangicetto and Ekstrom exchanged their guitars, prior to “In The Morning And Amazing”. As they made the transition, Green expressed his appreciation of those in attendance and Clifford went onto strike his cymbals to start the song.
Before Circa Survive ended their performance “Get Out”, Green announced his gratitude towards the fans one last time. He advised the spectators to stay tune for Coheed and Cambria, for their music had the ability to cause a ruckus.
“Holding Someone’s Hair Back” and “Brother Song” were also part of Circa Survive’s set.
Claudio Sanchez is the vocalist and guitarist, Travis Stever is the guitarist, Josh Eppard is the drummer and Zach Cooper is the bassist of Coheed and Cambria. Stever is also the backup vocalist.
As Coheed and Cambria made their way to the stage, the instrumental to “Sentry The Defiant” was heard. The cheers grew louder, as they reached their designated areas and continued to play. As Sanchez sang the verses, Stever accompanied him during the chorus.
Prior to “Key Entity Extraction III: Vic The Butcher”, Sanchez exchanged his guitar. A robotic voice was heard and it was complemented by footsteps. Eppard went onto accompany Sanchez, as the sound effects faded away.
Sanchez thanked the audience and introduced themselves as a group, before Coheed and Cambria ended their recital with “Welcome Home”. During the song, Sanchez pointed the axe handle of his guitar towards the crowd and strummed the chords.
“A Favor House Atlantic”, “Goodnight, Fair Lady”, “Number City”, “Gravity’s Union”, “Ten Speed (of God’s Blood and Burial)” and were also part of Coheed and Cambria’s set.
