UPDATE: Rockstar has released new details today, November 1, on when to expect the "Stimulus Package", check out the story regarding title update 1.05 and the Stimulus Package HERE.
Rockstar has decided to hold back the GTA Online Stimulus Package, an deposit of in-game cash to player accounts in the popular online component of the billion dollar breaking Grand Theft Auto 5.
The developer recently posted on their blog, titled "Newswire" that the GTA 5 Stimulus Package will be held back until the developer feels confident that they have a handle on the reported progress loss issues.
"We have a few more tweaks and fixes to make in a new title update that will hit sometime next week and then we will distribute the cash." said the blog post, noting that they were not committing to any certain date for the cash for players.
Rockstar announced on October 11, via the Newswire blog, that they would be granting players a total of $500,000 in two deposits of $250,000 as peace of mind for a frustrating launch of GTA Online. Rockstar was careful in the initial post to not put a date on the influx either, and noted progress loss as the only reason the Stimulus Package would be delayed.
"We will announce specific dates as soon as possible, but are currently hoping to be able to make the first deposit by the end of next week (after we’ve confirmed that issues causing game progress loss have been fixed) with the second installment to happen by the end of the month." stated the Rockstar Newsire article dated on October 11.
Rockstar moved on after the concise paragraph regarding the Stimulus Package, to describe the first DLC for GTA 5. Titled the "Beach Bum Pack", Rockstar details that the new DLC will feature new beach themed vehicles and weaponry to be used in the games single and mulitplayer game modes.
New customization options will also be added for GTA Online Characters including new tattoos, hairstyles and more. Game modes look to be added as well, according to Rockstar, "We’ll also be adding lots of brand new action-packed Jobs to play with Gang Attacks, Survivals, Last Team Standings, Parachutes, Deathmatches and Races that will have you bloodying up the waters and coastlines of the finest beach resorts across Los Santos and Blaine County."
Rockstar stated that the content for the Beach Bum Pack should be available in early November, but no specific date was announced.
In addition to the Stimulus Package and Beach Bum Pack announcements, Rockstar updated readers on the status of the user content creation tool, the "Content Creator". This update will allow players to, "craft, publish, rate and play custom-made Deathmatch and Race Jobs." Rockstar continued that they will keep an eye for creative and exceptional Race Jobs and Deathmatches to stamp as "Rockstar Verified".
GTA 5 was released on September 17th for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles to both great critical and commercial success, breaking the billion dollar mark after only three days.
