Despite speculation and rumors suggesting that Grand Theft Auto 5 would be delayed until 2015 and the PC version of GTA 5 being cancelled, Rockstar Support has shared a response dismissing such rumors. According to a report by PlayStation Lifestyle from Aug. 30, a member of the Rockstar Support staff confirmed that GTA 5 PC is still on track for release and that PS4 and Xbox One versions have not been delayed.

The absence of Grand Theft Auto 5 from Sony’s Gamescom conference has put fans on edge and many fear the title will no longer release in 2014. To add fuel to the fire, VG247 reported that there was talk of a delay at Gamescom. The fears of a delay were further powered by a story on Fox Weekly claiming that GTA 5 for PC will soon be cancelled and that the release date for the PS4 and Xbox One versions have been delayed until 2015.

Thankfully, these rumors seem to be unfounded. A fan took to Rockstar Support to search for truth and clarification regarding the release date for Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC and if rumors of a delay were true. Rockstar Support guaranteed this fan that there has been no delay and that the release date for GTA 5 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC has not changed. Find Rockstar Support’s full comment below:

I’m also looking forward to the PC release, however this release date has not changed. Please see our support article, “Grand Theft Auto V Release Date on PlayStation®4, Xbox One, and PC” for the most recent information on this topic.

With rumors of cancellations and delays now dismissed, hopefully Rockstar Games announces an official release date in the near future. Grand Theft Auto V was released for PS3 and Xbox 360 on Sept. 17, 2013. Perhaps we’ll get an official release date announcement on the one year anniversary of GTA 5’s launch.
