A Rockmart teen is under arrest and facing a felony marijuana charge and two misdemeanor charges for having prohibited items such as marijuana and alcohol on the campus of the Rockmart High School.
Lucas Eugene Miller, 18, of Aragon was arrested by the Rockmart School Resource Officer Steven Hite on Wednesday and charged with felony possession of marijuana on school campus, misdemeanor possession of alcohol on school campus and misdemeanor possession of drug related objects.
Administrators at the Rockmart High School called on the Rockmart School Resource Officer after finding a substance suspected to be marijuana in a vehicle.
Officer Hite was able to confirm that the substance was in fact marijuana. Two pipes that smelled of burned marijuana were also discovered in the vehicle along with two cans of beer.
Miller was released from custody this morning after posting three property bonds totaling $2,100.
Miller was in violation of school policy as well as in violation of Georgia law.
Arrest reports do not reflect the guilt or innocence of the individuals listed. All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Not every arrest/charge leads to a conviction. A conviction or acquittal is determined by the court system.
