A Rockmart man is in custody as the result of an investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse.
Russell Daniel O'Neal, 35, of a Rockmart address was arrested Tuesday evening by Polk County deputies on warrants charging him with child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes and incest. He was transported to Polk from the Paulding County Sheriff's Office by deputies Eason and Price.
The charges are from an incident that occurred in September of 2012. O'Neal remains in custody with no bond at the time of this publication.
According to Georgia Code:
- a person commits the offense of incest when such person knowingly engages in sexual intercourse or sodomy with a either a blood relative or a relative by marriage.
- a person commits the offense of child molestation when he or she does any immoral or indecent act to or in the presence of or with any child under the age of 16 years with the intent to arouse or satisfy the sexual desires of either the child or the person
- a person commits the offense of enticing a child for indecent purposes when he or she solicits, entices, or takes any child under the age of 16 years to any place whatsoever for the purpose of child molestation or indecent acts.
