Rockmart man arrested on child sexual abuse charges

A Rockmart man was arrested Thursday as the result of an investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse that occurred in 2008.

According to Polk County Detective Joe Weldon, Bryan O'Neal Allred, 25, of a Lowery Road address in Rockmart was arrested Thursday by Polk County Sheriff's Deputy Deaton on warrants for 1 count of child molestation; 1 count aggravated child molestation, 1 counts of aggravated sodomy; first degree cruelty to children and 1 count of enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Allred remains in custody with bond denied at the time of this publication.
