Rockmart man accused of being a peeping tom

A Rockmart man is now facing several felony charges related to voyeurism; possibly involving juveniles.

Guy Lamar Mears, 43, of Rockmart was arrested yesterday and charged with three felony charges including peeping tom, invading the privacy of another by unlawful eavesdropping or surveillance, second degree cruelty to children (causing excessive physical and/or mental pain and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and/or first offender probation.

Rockmart Police Chief Keith Sorrells stated that the matter is still under investigation and therefore, his department cannot comment at this time.

The arrest listed within this article does not reflect the actual guilt or innocence of the individual listed. All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Not every arrest or charge leads to a conviction. A conviction or an acquittal will be determined by the court system.
