This Examiner was delighted to hear that Rockit Bar and Grill was rolling out gluten-free and vegan menus this past May and was finally able to visit their location at 22 W. Hubbard in Chicago over Labor Day weekend to give their new menu options a try. Not only was the meal fantastic but the service was exceptional as well!
The Mediterranean Salad was a hit! This was on the vegan menu but if you omit the grilled pita bread, which they will gladly accommodate, the meal will be gluten-free. It came with kale-chickpea falafel, white bean hummus, fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions over chopped romaine lettuce tossed in a roasted sesame vinaigrette. Another great option that is gluten-free, is their Chicken Paillard, which was also sampled by this Examiner as well. It features flattened chicken breast and fresh cucumbers with a feta cheese salad. One more gluten-free option to consider is the Goat Cheese Salad (pictured in this article). This salad comes with fresh baby greens, goat cheese, orange segments, sweet candied pecans tossed in orange pecan dressing.
There are many other options available on the gluten-free menu as well, such as, Tomato Bisque, NY Strip Steak, Grilled Tilapia and Classic Creme Brulee for dessert.
