Rockets trade rumors indicate that an Omer Asik trade is already in place. These Houston Rockets rumors indicate that it is going to be a three-team deal and that it could become official in the next few days. A report from late Sunday (Dec. 15) in The Houston Chronicle confirms that the general manager for the team is just waiting to pull the trigger now.
One of the stories out there is that it will be a complicated three-way deal that could involve the Philadelphia 76ers and forward Thaddeus Young. The identity of the third team hasn't been confirmed by anyone yet, but if the deal gets closer to being completed, that information is very likely to come out. At one point it looked like the Portland Trail Blazers wanted to acquire Asik, so it's certainly possible they are back in the mix.
There have been Rockets trade rumors floating around since the offseason. When the team signed Dwight Howard to a huge free agent contract, former starting center Omer Asik made it immediately known that he wanted to be dealt. The team held on to him in the hopes that he could provide a very talented low post tandem with Howard on defense. It didn't work and the team has been shopping him around since then.
The team has already officially announced that a deal will be done by Dec. 19, so now it's just a matter of the pieces being put into place.
