Rockets trade rumors now suggest Jeremy Lin could get included in an Omer Asik deal. These Houston Rockets trade rumors indicate the franchise is getting closer to pulling the trigger on a deal and that there are clear front-runners in the negotiations. A report from CBS Sports on Wednesday (Dec. 18) states that the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks are at the forefront.
There are certainly more teams interested in acquiring Asik than before, suggesting that a good package might become necessary to acquire him. There was even a rumor that a three-team deal with the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers could go down. CBS reported that, "Brandon Bass and Jeff Green of the Celtics, Thaddeus Young of the Sixers and Paul Millsap of the Hawks have been among the players that league sources say have most intrigued the Rockets."
That's a lot of players, showing that it is pretty certain that something is going to take place very soon. The team already self-imposed a deadline to deal Omer Asik by Thursday (Dec. 19) so the trigger could get pulled very soon. As for the inclusion of Jeremy Lin, it seems that the team is willing to include him if another franchise wants to take him. The problem is that 2014-15 contract year where he is due $15 million.
All signs point to a deal being imminent, it just hasn't been confirmed which one of the many Houston Rockets trade rumors will be the one that becomes fact this week.
