Rocker Eddie Money at House of Blues

Veteran rocker Eddie Money brings his show to the House of Blues on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at 8 p.m.  (The House of Blues is located in the Showboat Casino.)

Despite his dreams of being a performer, Edward Joseph Mahoney from Brooklyn, New York originally followed his grandfather, father and brother into the New York City Police Department.  The dream won out when he quit the police force after only two years, moved to Berkeley, California and started performing in local clubs.

His life changed forever when he changed his name from Mahoney to Money and was introduced to record promoter Phil Graham who became his manager and friend.

Said Graham of Money, “Eddie Money has it all…not only can he sing, write and play, but he is a natural performer.”

Money's debut album came in 1977 and went double platinum.  Top 40 hit followed top 40 hit with songs like Think I'm in Love and Shakin.  In 1986, he released the album Can't Hold Back, which featured the famous duet with Ronnie Spector, Take Me Home Tonight.  The song was nominated for a Grammy and reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Eddie Money continues to play all over the country, pleasing old fans and earning new ones.  Diehard fans claim he performs with the same passion as he did more than 30 years ago.  To date, he has sold 28 million records.  Today, he's joined on stage by his daughter, Jesse Money, a talented vocalist who sings background vocals and performs Take Me Home Tonight with her dad.  (See featured video clip.)

Eddie also dabbles in acting and has been featured on hit TV shows like The King of Queens and The Drew Carey Show (he played Mim's ex-husband).  He's also in front of a new generation now in video games like Grand Theft Auto and Guitar Hero.
