Cat eyes have always brought a flair for the dramatic. Since the times of Cleopatra, people have been using cat eyes to achieve an intense look, and Fall 2013 is no different. Cat eyes were all over the runways during the Fall 2013 fashion shows, but they are slightly changed up this season. Rather than looking like Cher in the 60s, models walked the runways in cat eyes of all colors and varying degrees of drama.
This look is versatile enough to take from the office to happy hour. Make it work-friendly by choosing softer colors like rich purples and browns. Finish with minimal liner and a coat of mascara to make the color stand out. If you want something different for night, try creating the wing tip with white or silver shadow and finish with a thin, black line. White eyeliner is perfect for people with smaller eyes, as it can make them appear bigger.
You can also modify the classic cat eye by creating a hard line rather than a wingtip. Putting shadow in a line up to the brow bone stretches the look for more intensity. This one is better left to night, as it can be a bit severe for every day.
Try combining two fall trends in one with a bronze cat eye. Using a color like Baked from Urban Decay, which can be found at the new Ulta store in the Orchard Town Center in Westminster, and use it to create the wing tip. This color is great for many eye colors. It makes blue eyes shine brighter and brings out gold flecks in brown and hazel eyes. Pair it with a plum liner for a fun fall combination.
