In a few days Back Bar hosts a knock-down, drag-out fight for the right to play San Jose's historic heart and soul of the underground music scene. You are the judge and jury as 4 regional rock acts face off, every Thursday night through April 24th, for not only the weekly prize of $500, the grand prize of $2000, but for the right to play in the infamous local night-spot, The Cactus Club.

Round 1 is set as for this Thursday (Mar, 27th) as The Heart Attacks, Pounders, X Rated Funk Squad and Redshift hit the stage at Back Bar Original (418 S. Market St., San Jose, California 95113). Crowd reaction and attendants serve as the ultimate judge, deciding who gets paid, and who moves on.

The winners of the weekly battles play the defunct Club Miami, formerly the home of The Cactus Club (177 W Santa Clara St. San Jose, CA 95113). Furthermore, if you're having trouble feeling the gravity of The Cactus Club's historic mark on the San Jose music scene, peep the Jon Lopez directed documentary HERE.
