The Village of Lake Zurich, in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, is unveiling its first ever downtown block party, Rock The Block, on Sept. 14, 2013 from 6 - 11 p.m..

Lake Zurich's Rock the Block has been planned as an all-ages traditional street dance that features dining dancing and partying in downtown Lake Zurich. Three live bands will take the stage providing musical entertainment. The bands will be 80's Enough, Friction and Sly Rose.
Food will be offered by local eateries and local food truck vendors. Alcoholic beverages will be available, but ID will be checked and a $1 wristband purchase required to purchase alcohol. The beverage options include Beer, wine, sangria, Bob Chinn’s Mai Tais, Mike's Hard Lemonade products, water and other non-alcoholic beverages..
The fest will be attended by local officials, including Lake Zurich Mayor Tom Poynton, Village Trustees and staff, local community leaders. This event is the Village of Lake Zurich’s first foray into sponsoring a large scale downtown event and planning for this event has been a community effort.
